Severe storms are moving through southern Minnesota on Monday evening.

A tornado watch is in effect for a large portion of southern Minnesota until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Several tornado warnings have popped up in several counties within the region, though they have all since expired.

WCCO has issued a NEXT Weather alert, which is in effect through Monday evening due to an enhanced risk for severe storms. There's a chance for large hail and damaging winds, with the potential for tornado warnings.

A resident near Northfield saw golfball-sized hail while others saw various sizes of hail falling in Dennison and Faribault.

Tuesday morning, a few clouds will linger, and there's the chance for some spotty showers in southern Minnesota. Temperatures during the day will be near 70 degrees.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms are possible, especially later in the day on Wednesday.

High temperatures are mainly in the 70s this week before dropping into the 40s on Saturday when some Minnesotans may see a few snowflakes.
