Vikings Thank Construction Crews With On-Site Lunch

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The Minnesota Vikings are saying thank you to the construction workers building the team's new stadium.

About 900 workers took a break out of their day to enjoy lunch right on the construction site.

It's been just over a year since the groundbreaking for the new stadium.

Besides the tailgate-themed lunch, the workers also were given a hooded sweatshirt and a thank-you card from owners Zygi and Mark Wilf.

The new Vikings stadium is set to open in August 2016.

It will host the Super Bowl in 2018 and the NCAA Final Four the year after.
