Vikes' Captain Munnerlyn Nabs Korey Stringer Good Guy Award

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings cornerback Captain Munnerlyn has won the Korey Stringer Good Guy Award, for cooperation with the media.

Munnerlyn was chosen for the award by the Twin Cities chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.

The seventh-year player from Mobile, Alabama, joined the Vikings as an unrestricted free agent in 2014. Munnerlyn was a seventh-round draft choice by the Carolina Panthers in 2009. He was also a unanimous selection by the Carolina PFWA chapter as the Panthers recipient of the Good Guy award in 2011.

The Korey Stringer award is named in honor of the late Vikings lineman, who died in 2001. The award is voted on annually by members of the Twin Cities media and presented to the Vikings player who is the most cooperative with the media.
