Tree Reported Stolen From St. Paul Officer's Grave

STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) -- Stillwater police are seeking information from the public after a Christmas tree and lights were stolen from a fallen St. Paul police officer's grave site.

Family members of Officer Josh Lynaugh say they have replaced the stolen 4-foot Christmas tree with a smaller one at Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater. The cemetery caretaker says Lynaugh's grave was the only one vandalized.

Family members say the vandals trampled a picture of the officer in the snow and discarded a badge with his number on it. They say tracks in the snow show the tree was dragged to a nearby road.

Lynaugh died of a heart attack while chasing a suspect in February 2013. He was 30 years old.
