Struggling Meals On Wheels Gets $5K Grant

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Last month we told you about a Twin Cities meals on wheels program on the brink of closure.

The Burnsville location was $2,000 in the red and could be the fifth Meals on Wheels location to close because of a lack of donations.

The director of the Walser Foundation saw the story and wanted to help.

The foundation came up with a $5,000 grant so seniors in the area can keep getting meals delivered for at least the next couple of years.

Meals on Wheels is overhauling its business model to make the program more sustainable.
