Minneapolis, St. Paul Declare Snow Emergencies Amid Winter Storm

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Amid heavy snowfall and blowing winds in the Twin Cities, both Minneapolis and St. Paul declared snow emergencies, beginning Monday night.

Parking restrictions for the first day of the snow emergency begin in Minnesota's capital city begin at 9 p.m. for all "night plow routes." Starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, parking is restricted on "day plow routes" until the streets have been fully plowed.

In Minneapolis, parking along snow emergency routes (denoted by blue street signs) is restricted also starting at 9 p.m. Monday. At 8 a.m. Tuesday, parking along the even-numbered side of non-snow emergency routes is restricted until 8 p.m. After that, parking along the odd-numbered sides of the street is restricted until 8 a.m. the next morning.

Eden Prairie, Crystal, Bloomington, Plymouth, West St. Paul and Mendota Heights also declared snow emergencies in the Twin Cities. For a full list of cities and information on their parking rules, go to wcco.com/snowemergency.
