Shakopee Walmart Placed On Lockdown After Shooting Incident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Shakopee Walmart was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday evening after police say they received reports of shots fired.

Police were dispatched to the store at 8101 Old Carriage Court at around 6:38 p.m. Police say the store was placed on lockdown for the safety of the customers, and that no injuries were reported.

Police say it started when two men pulled a gun on someone and tried to rob them. Investigators say the would-be robbers got away in a gray or silver Chevrolet Venture.

The robbers and victim met for a Craigslist sale. Shakopee Police say the department's building can be used as a designated Craigslist sale meeting point.

If you know anything, call police at 952-233-9400.
