Renderings Released Of New State Fair Building

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota State Fair officials released images of a new agricultural complex to be constructed on the fairgrounds over the next few years.

At a meeting Thursday morning, renderings of the project, which will sit on fairgrounds' northern edge, were shown to fair agriculture officials.

The theme of the new building will be food and agriculture, and it'll feature an outdoor amphitheater, a large plaza and space for traveling exhibits, fair officials said in a statement.

The project is slated to be under construction from 2017-2018. It's being designed by the Minneapolis-based Cuningham Group.

The Minnesota State Fair, one of the best attended state fairs in the country, runs from Aug. 25 through Labor Day.
