Gov. Dayton Declares June 7 'Prince Day' In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Gov. Mark Dayton is declaring Tuesday June 7, 2016 "Prince Day." It would've been the music icon's 58th birthday.

After his tragic passing on April 21, a massive outpouring of love and grief came in from all around the world. Thousands came by Prince's home and studio, Paisley Park, in Chanhassen, Minnesota to thousands of memorials and tributes to the Purple One.

The governor encouraged all Minnesotans to wear purple in honor of Prince's "enduring legacy," in his proclamation. You can read the full proclamation here.
