Mpls and St. Paul Fire, Police Officers Take Part In The Second Annual "Unite Fight"

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Minneapolis and St. Paul police and firefighters are stepping into the ring and "duking it out" in the second annual "Unite Fight."

Six weeks ago, Minneapolis officer Carlos Escobar received a life-saving kidney transplant from a 20-year-old college student, Sebastian Rivera.

They were two strangers brought together through a plea on Facebook.

Saturday night's "Unite Fight," is helping to raise money to help with Escobar's bills.

Meanwhile, Officer Escobar is also asking for help for the man he calls a hero.

The young man who donated a kidney needs help fixing his wrecked car so he can get to work and school.

Officer Escobar set up a fund for him at US Bank. Donations can be made to the "Help a Hero" fund.
