Heat advisory Tuesday in Twin Cities ahead of more storms
Get ready for a warm and humid Monday night in the Twin Cities ahead of a sweltering Tuesday.
An air quality alert is set to expire Monday at 6 p.m. for the northern half of Minnesota due to Canadian wildfire smoke, according to the National Weather Service.
A heat advisory is in effect for the metro Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., with feels-like temperatures just shy of 100 degrees. The actual high will be around 93 and it will be muggy.
Rain and thunderstorms will move in later on Tuesday. The severe threat is low, but metro residents could hear a few rumbles. There will also be pockets of downpours.
Rain will continue into Wednesday before the metro dries out, with highs 20-degrees cooler on Thursday.
