Cooler temps to end work week in Twin Cities; rain precedes lovely Memorial Day weekend

4 p.m. Minnesota forecast from May 21, 2026 | NEXT Weather

Though the Twin Cities are warming up slightly Thursday, temperatures will remain a few degrees below average heading into the end of the week.

Expect highs in the mid 60s Thursday with some morning clouds giving way to more sunshine in the afternoon.

High pressure drifting farther east will allow the next weak system to move in Friday, bringing more clouds through the day. Any showers during the morning, however, will mainly be confined to western and central Minnesota.

A few showers Friday evening will linger overnight, but they look to wrap up into Saturday morning. Saturday will again see highs in the mid 60s.

The rest of Memorial Day weekend is looking nice with ample sunshine and warmer temps. Highs reach near 80 Sunday and mid 80s Monday.

Some models are showing an isolated storm popping up Monday, but there is low confidence with that.

Temps stay warm in the mid-to-upper 80s all week with a few wimpy chances for rain possible.
