Cold Friday night in Twin Cities ahead of late weekend snow

Temperatures will fall below zero on Friday night before a warmup begins.

The sun will shine on Saturday in the Twin Cities, which will reach 17 degrees.

Sunday will feature temperatures in the mid-20s in parts of Minnesota, which is above average, though a clipper system may drop 1 to 2 inches of snow. 

Sunday's flurries may create some slick areas, though it won't be a big storm. 

High temperatures should be in the 20s throughout next week. Minnesotans may see some light snow during that time.

Cold weather advisories were in effect Friday morning for northern Minnesota for wind chills as low as minus 35 degrees.
