Rain transitions into snow overnight in Twin Cities

Noon Minnesota forecast from March 10, 2026 | NEXT Weather

Tuesday kicks off a stretch of wet days as multiple weather systems will pass through Minnesota.

Tuesday's high dips into the 40s with precipitation expect from midday on, though there should be minimal impacts during the evening commute. Expect highs in the 40s and sub-freezing lows for the rest of the week.

Rain will turn to snow just after dinner time Tuesday, with evening snow falling mostly north of the Twin Cities — but metro residents will possibly wake up Wednesday to an inch or more of snowy accumulation on grassy areas. Slowdowns are possible for the morning commute.

Another system moves in on Thursday, bringing more snow north of the metro. The southern suburbs will likely see lighter totals.

Then over the weekend, NEXT Weather meteorologists are keeping an eye on another stronger winter system. The amount of potential snow isn't clear at this point, but could impact travel.

Colder air is also expected to follow this system.
