Man Dies In St. Paul Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Paul Police have identified the man who died Tuesday night after a shooting in St. Paul.

According to St. Paul Police, Jeffery Earl Willingham, 24, died due to complications from a gunshot wound on Wednesday.

At approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday, an officer in the area of Hamline and Marshall avenues heard what he believed to be shots fired. The officer continued to look in the area until he found Willingham on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.

Willingham was taken to Regions Hospital where he was treated. He was expected to live after being treated at the hospital, but he died due to complications from the gunshot wound Wednesday morning.

Now, St. Paul Police are asking the public's help in more information regarding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 651-266-5650.

The exact cause of death will be released by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.
