MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are looking for a man who assaulted an officer before escaping out of a window early Saturday morning.

Around 5 a.m., a Lakes Area police officer responded to a domestic disturbance in Lindstrom, according to the Lakes Area Police Department.

The officer arrived at the residence and made contact with 24-year-old Daniel Joseph Manthey. Manthey then attempted to punch the officer before pinning him in a doorway and striking him with the door multiple times, police said.

The officer backed away from the door and up a stairway. Police said Manthey then locked himself in a room, broke out a window and ran away.
