Keith Ellison To Introduce Bernie Sanders At DNC

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Rep. Keith Ellison is set to introduce Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose campaign many pundits say gave Hillary Clinton's presidential run a number of significant speed bumps, at the Democratic National Convention.

Though both have since offered their endorsements for presidential hopeful Clinton in recent weeks, Ellison spent much of the earlier campaign months vocally supporting Sanders, who centered his campaign around his outsider status against Clinton's establishment ties.

In endorsing Clinton, Ellison said, "Clinton is the most qualified nominee in history and there is no question that she stands firmly for progressive values."

Sanders ended up winning the Minnesota caucus over Clinton on Super Tuesday last March.

Ellison is expected to introduce Sanders at the convention in Philadelphia at about 9:40 p.m. Monday (CST).
