Juvenile Suspect Arrested In Bemidji Assault

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Bemidji police say they have arrested a juvenile suspect in connection to a stabbing assault Monday afternoon.

On April 6 at 2:20 p.m., police officers responded to the Boys and Girls Club building, located at 1600 Minnesota Ave. NW, on a report of a possible stabbing victim who walked into the building looking for help.

Employees at the building provided first aid to the victim until he could be taken to Sanford Health of Bemidji.

Police investigated and were able to determine that the victim was assaulted near or inside the south parking lot of the JW Smith Elementary School, located on 1712 America Ave. NW. Police were also able to identify a suspect vehicle, which ultimately led to the arrest of a juvenile suspect.

According to police, neither the suspect or victim have any connection to the locations and there is no threat to people who frequent these locations.

The identities of the suspect or victim have not been released.
