Iowa Legalizes Sports Betting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Iowa has become the 11th state to legalize betting on professional and college sports.

Betting will be legal as soon as this summer in the Hawkeye State.

Betting is limited to people 21 years and older and would be done through the state's 19 casinos.

The new law excludes betting on some events, including minor leagues and in-state college teams.

Lawmakers estimate the sports bets would bring in between $2 million and $4 million a year.
