Could We Finally See Major Snow Next Week?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's been a bit of a bust for snow-lovers throughout the Twin Cities. With just 25.3 inches this winter, we're more than a foot below average.

However, there is some hope as the calendar turns to March.

WCCO meteorologists are tracking a storm system that'll move through the Upper Midwest Monday night into Tuesday.

The latest model runs have tended to push the heaviest snow further to the south, but significant snow still looks like a good bet for southern Minnesota. It could stretch north into the metro, too.

Early projections would put 1 to 3 inches of snow around the Twin Cities, with as much as 6 to 12 inches in the Rochester area.

It could all change over the coming days, but WCCO meteorologists will be tracking the storm over the weekend.
