Sheriff: Fugitive Inmate Ryan Petro, 34, Captured In Wadena

WADENA, Minn. (WCCO) -- Authorities in northern Minnesota say "dangerous" inmate Ryan Petro, who escaped from custody Monday afternoon, was caught in Wadena Tuesday.

Petro, 34, was wearing handcuffs when he escaped Monday afternoon in the area of Colfax Avenue Southeast. He was en route to a court appearance at the time.

Wadena-Deer Creek Public Schools put local school buildings on soft lockdown Tuesday, with police were posted at each building. All school doors were either locked or manned.

Petro had been in custody for a month before the escape.
