2 Sought Following Assault Near U Of M

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in Minneapolis are looking for two suspects following a Monday night assault near the University of Minnesota campus.

In a safety alert on Tuesday, the university said the assault happened around 9 p.m. near the intersection of 15th Avenue Southeast and 4th Street Southeast.

According to a police report, witnesses said two men pushed the victim to the ground and dragged him down a hill to street level. The victim was hospitalized for his injuries.

The suspects were last seen going down 15th Avenue.

One of the men is described as being about 30-35 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a light build and short blonde hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans and a backpack.

The other man was described as being 25-30 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a light build. He was wearing a tan jean jacket, red shorts and a black hat with the word NAVY on it.
