Art Shanty Projects To Reopen This Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- For organizers of the Art Shanty Projects, the show must go on!

On Tuesday, the organization announced that the event will reopen for the final weekend of the festival.

The event will now be held on the White Bear Lake County Park beach on Saturday and Sunday.

Last week, the event was cancelled due to above-average warmth and rapidly deteriorating ice thickness.

"Artists have demonstrated resilience, agility and team spirit throughout the entire process," Witt Siasoco, Artistic Director, said. "They have worked for months to create a tremendous Program and overwhelmingly voted to continue the festival as planned. As an artist-driven organization, we want to support their efforts and hope the public will as well by visiting during our final weekend."

The Art Shanty Projects has been a month-long festival on White Bear Lake for 10 years.
