6 Displaced By Duplex Fire In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Three adults and three children are now counting on the Red Cross to help them find shelter after their north Minneapolis home was damaged by fire Thursday morning.

Fire department officials say the blaze appears to have started in the unoccupied side of a duplex on the 3100 block of Colfax Avenue.

The fire was reported just before 10 a.m. on Thursday. Everyone inside the duplex made it to safety.

"I wasn't really prepared for this," duplex resident Zandrian Hunt said. "My house is gone, clothes, furniture, everything's gone."

Hunt said she's grateful that no one was hurt.

"I don't know what I'm going to do," she said, holding back tears.

Everyone who was inside the duplex was checked by medics at the scene and no one had to be hospitalized.
