1 Hurt In Minnetonka House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One person was hurt after a house fire in Minnetonka early Saturday morning.

Crews were called to the fire on the 5500 block of Eden Prairie Road just after 2:30 a.m.

Fire officials say the majority of the fire was in the front of the home, but where it started is still under investigation.

Minnetonka Assistant Chief and Fire Marshall Luke Berscheit says the weather also played a factor while battling the flames.

"It requires extra man power as we rotate our personnel through to help keep them warm and keep us safe, so yes, cold weather does hamper," Berscheit said. "We also have to deal with water in the hose lines, try to prevent that from freezing up also."

One person, as well as multiple pets, did make it out OK. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
