1 Dead In Sawyer Co. Rollover Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead after a rollover accident in Sawyer County early Wednesday morning.

According to the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office, at 9:51 a.m. officers received a call of a one-vehicle rollover crash on River Road in the Township of Hunter.

Upon arrival, officers found a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck off the road. Police said the driver of the truck, 22-year-old Darth Michael Winkler of Lewiston, Ill., had been traveling southbound on River Road when he left the roadway and collided with trees.

Winkler was found in the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office.
