Alleged Gun Play Leads To Teen's Death

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A teen is dead and his friend taken into custody Wednesday night following gun play that ended in tragedy.

Just before 9 p.m., according to Miami Police Department, two teenage males were playing with a gun at Northwest 14th Avenue and 3rd Street when the gun went off.

The bullet hit one of the teens, who family identify as 16-year-old William Pagan, in the face and ended up killing him.

The family say it's possible Pagan may have accidentally shot himself but police have not confirmed the information.

According to police, the friend took off after the gun went off. A search ended when he was found a short distance away on Flagler and 5th Avenue.

The teen was handcuffed and taken into custody.

He is being questioned by investigators but has not been arrested or charged ad police work to figure out exactly how the incident unfolded.
