Police: Miami Teen Shot & Killed Visiting Friend

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami police confirm a 14-year-old boy is dead after he was shot and killed while visiting a friend on Northwest 52nd Street tonight.

Police say it was just before 8 p.m. when shots rang out. A spokesman for the Miami Police Department says a car pulled up and fired several shots.
The teen was shot in the chest. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he died.
Friends of the teen who rushed to the scene of the shooting say the victim was a freshmen at Miami Central High.
Police do not have information on the car from where the shots were fired from. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
