Plane Heading To Miami Makes Emergency Landing In Mobile

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A plane heading to Miami from Alexandria, Louisiana had to make an emergency landing in Mobile, Alabama.

The Boeing 737 was forced to land after ten passengers started complaining of itchy eyes and difficulty breathing due to smoke in the cabin, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

It is unknown what caused the smoke.

Mobile Fire Rescue said the plane is not a commercial airliner. It is a federal plane.

There were about 10 passengers including ICE employees and air crew. No detainees were on board.

There were no injuries. One passenger was  transported to a nearby hospital and released later.

The flight crew was not affected.
