MIAMI (CBSMiami) ---  Those wanting to get rid of their guns can do so safely and get a bike in return on Saturday.

The Miami Police department along with the Miami Bike Shop are launching their "More Bikes Less Guns Project"initiative meant to reduce gun violence in South Florida.

Those who turn in their guns will receive a bicycle in exchange. Some of the bikes are valued at more than $300. No questions will be asked about the guns being turned in.

Gift cards to Walgreens, Target and other stores will also be given for those who don't  get a bike.

The program kicks off at the Museum Club Tower located at 1598 N.E. 1 Avenue. The event starts at 10 a.m. and last until 3 p.m.

Following the event, a community bicycle ride will take place with members of the Miami Police Department joining in.
