MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The entire Miami-Dade College Kendall Campus has been evacuated Tuesday over a bomb threat.

Juan Mendieta, director of communication at the school, said they got a threat that came in through police.

Miami-Dade police said the non-specific threat came in via a phone call.

At first, only building two and another building were being evacuated. However, school officials said "in this day and age of heightened security" they take all threats seriously and expanded the evacuation to the whole campus.

Mendieta said they just got a threat last week in reference to all schools and colleges in Miami-Dade.

Police officers swept the buildings, as well as surrounding areas, and no credible threats were found.

School officials released a statement saying all classes have been canceled.

"In an abundance of caution, we are canceling classes at MDC's Kendall Campus this evening due to the bomb threat so that authorities can sweep the campus.  Classes will resume in the morning."
