BSO: Man Found Near Park "Brutally Killed"

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) --  Broward Sheriff's deputies said a man found dead near a Pompano Beach park was "brutally killed."

Passers-by came across the body of the man near Mitchell-Moore Park on Thursday. Deputies said they responded before 7 a.m. and found the body near a shrub.

Deputies said the body was that of 45-year-old Charles Roberson from Fort Lauderdale.

He had obvious signs of injury to his body, investigators said, were consistent with a suspicious death.

Investigators are conducting interviews and reviewing physical evidence.

The Medical Examiner's office will determine cause of death.
