KEY LARGO, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) —  An Illinois man died while snorkeling in the Florida Keys on Tuesday, authorities said.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reports that 77-year-old Domingo Setrini was snorkeling with a group off Key Largo's John Pennekamp State Park on Tuesday.

Setrini's wife told deputies that Setrini had only been in the water for about 10 minutes when employees on the dive boat noticed he was floating face down in the water. He was pulled aboard, and CPR was performed as other snorkelers returned to the boat.

Officials say paramedics met the boat at shore and took Setrini to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
