Kelly: Dolphins Trading Up 'Would Be Irresponsible'

With the NFL Draft a mere hours away, Joe Rose caught up with Sun Sentinel Dolphins reporter Omar Kelly to talk the latest scoop swirling around Davie, including the possibility of trading the pick.

"I think there's probably about a 50-percent chance they move down," Kelly said on WQAM. "I really think moving up would be irresponsible. I don't think there's any player, not Kevin White, not Amari Cooper, not a pass rusher, not even Todd Gurley -- there's no player that's worth you having less resources.

"To me it would be wiser for you to trade down, pick up more assets that allow you to get more good players."

So what's his gut with the Dolphins' early pick?

"I think it's gonna be Todd Gurley," Kelly said. "I would not be surprised if it's a cornerback."

The possible corners mentioned were Kevin Johnson or Byron Jones.

As for potential Hurricanes drafted tonight, Kelly thinks Ereck Flowers and Phillip Dorsett both go in the first round.
