MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat have one of the best starting lineups in the NBA.

The team's depth has been brought into question, but president Pat Riley isn't done tweaking his roster.

On Thursday, Yahoo! Sports reported that Miami has signed free agent swingman Gerald Green to a one-year deal.

The contract is for the NBA veterans minimum which is just over $1.4 million.

Green has played for eight different teams during his eight years in the NBA, spending the last two with the Phoenix Suns where he was a teammate of Goran and Zoran Dragic, who the Heat acquired at last season's trade deadline.

For his career, Green is a 42.5% shooter from the field while hitting 36.8% of his shots from three-point range.  He had a major role in the Suns rotation in 2013-14, averaging 15.8 points and 3.4 rebounds on 44.5% shooting while playing over 28 minutes per game.

Last season his minutes went down, but he still put up 11.9 points per game on 41.6% shooting.

Green has a reputation as both a scorer and a solid defender and will be a good addition to the Heat's bench.
