FHP Trooper Crashes Into Car On Turnpike

MIAMI (CBSMiami) --  A Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper crashed into a car while driving on Florida's Turnpike early Friday morning in Homestead.

FHP said the trooper was heading south on the turnpike near SW 268th Street just before 6:00 a.m. when it happened.

The trooper's car came up over a hump near a disabled car with no lights on and rear-ended the vehicle.

There were two people inside the car at the time of the crash. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

FHP said the trooper was not injured in the crash.

The Southbound lanes of the turnpike were blocked.
