Dolphins Practice Report: Wednesday Injury Update

DAVIE (CBSMiami) -- The Miami Dolphins suffered some bruises in Week 1 at Washington, with both Olivier Vernon (ankle) and Reshad Jones (hamstring) getting banged up, among others.

Here's Wednesday's injury update:

-Vernon practiced and insists he'll be ready to play at Jacksonville on Sunday.

-Jones did not practice, and his availability is uncertain.

-Defensive end Derrick Shelby sat out after suffering a black eye.

-Tight end Dion Sims, who suffered a concussion on a leaping dive in the end zone on Sunday, did not practice. His status for Sunday is in question.

-Reserve offensive tackle Jason Fox, out the last few weeks with a concussion, returned to practice.
