Cuban Migrants Land On Big Pine Key

KEY WEST (CBSMiami) - Good morning and welcome to America.

A group of 13 Cuban migrants landed early Tuesday morning on Big Pine Key.

The migrants arrived in a homemade boat just after 4 a.m., according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived, they found the boat docked at the Big Pine Fishing Lodge.

The sheriff's office said the migrants, all of which were in good health, were turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection for processing.
