Cuban Dissident Visits Florida, Says Repression Continues

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A well-known Cuban dissident and U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient is in town.
He says although relations between the United States and Cuba have been reestablished, many human rights issues still exist there.
Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet was awarded the presidential medal of freedom in 2007 under the Bush administration.
He spoke to a group in Coral Gables Wednesday morning about life in Cuba and says there's continued repression and a lack of rights among the Cuban people.
He says, Cuba's constitution of 1940 is the only legitimate Constitution because it is the only one that reflects the will of the people adopted through a free election, and hopes it will be reinstated.
Dr. Biscet currently heads the Lawton Foundation for Human Rights in Havana.
