Cries For Help Alert Firefighters To Trapped Kitten

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Rescue crews took time out of their day to help save a crying kitten, left helpless inside a trash bag.

Christine the kitten will be available for adoption at the Broward Humane Society. (Source: Miami-Dade Fire Rescue)

The cat was discovered while firefighters were on an unrelated call near N.W. 79th Street & N.W. 12th Court, and heard its call.

The kitten, approximately 2 to 3 weeks old, was tied up in a plastic grocery bag and discarded in the bushes.

The kitten was named Christine, after one of her saviors, and will be taken the Humane Society of Broward for adoption.
