Teen Killed In Gang-Related Shooting In Pacoima

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — A teenager was shot and killed in Pacoima this morning in a gang-related slaying, police said.

The shooting was reported at Van Nuys Boulevard and Norris Avenue, near Pacoima Charter Elementary School, at 2:20 a.m., Los Angeles police spokeswoman Officer Norma Eisenman said.

"Two suspects walked up and shot the victim," Eisenman said. "The incident is gang-related."

The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was a male between 16 and 18, and his attackers were men between 18 and 25, she said.

The area was sealed off as investigators canvassed for witnesses and searched for surveillance video, Eisenman said.

One investigator as the scene said the victim was shot in the head, and a shell casing from a semi-automatic handgun was found at the scene.
