Suspected DUI Driver Plows Into Police Vehicle As Officers Assist With Rollover Crash

MISSION HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Police say a suspected DUI driver crashed into a patrol vehicle Sunday while officers were assisting with another collision.

The first accident was reported around 7 a.m. on Brand Boulevard and Sharp Avenue, where police say a vehicle veered into a center divider, hitting a tree and flipping upside down.

The victim, a male, was transported to the hospital in extreme critical condition.

Officers were at the scene assisting when they say another driver slammed into their patrol car at Brand and Laurel Canyon boulevards.

No officers were injured.

The driver in the second crash was arrested for suspected DUI and did not sustain any injuries.
