A 3.6-magnitude earthquake strikes near Idyllwild

A  3.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Idyllwild at 9:43 a.m. on Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter was approximately six miles southwest of Idyllwild, and its effects were felt north to Yucipa, east to Cathedral City, south to Hemet, and with light shaking reported in Escondido, according to the USGS.
