Metro Bus Passenger Stabbed Multiple Times In Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a passenger on board a Metro bus sustained multiple stab wounds in an altercation.

The incident was reported by late afternoon Wednesday near the Beverly Hilton Hotel on North Whittier Drive and Wilshire Boulevard.

KCAL9's Bobby Kaple says the Metro Rapid 720 was headed eastbound when an altercation ensued in the back of the bus and one person was stabbed.

After the stabbing, several men ran. However, authorities said they detained one suspect.

The stabbing victim, who remained unidentified, sustained three stab wounds to the back of the head. That person was taken to UCLA Medical Center in unknown condition.

Meanwhile, Metro officials said a female passenger fell and struck her head amid the chaos. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.
