Original Tommy's Celebrates 70th Anniversary With $.70 Meal Deal On Beverly Boulevard

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Original Tommy's celebrated its 70th anniversary Sunday with a $.70 meal deal that had hundreds of chili and burger lovers lined up for blocks and hours.

The USC Trojan band was on hand to keep the crowd dancing.

But as CBS2's Jennifer Kastner reported the folks weren't lined up to dance or listen to music.

She spoke to one woman who was getting her burger around 6 p.m. and she said she'd been in line for about six hours. But, of course, it was worth the wait.

The crowd at the Beverly Boulevard location was also treated bo mariachi bands, prizes and a Tommy's classic car.

The event started at 10:45 a.m. and will last until midnight Sunday.
