Mark Wahlberg's Family Owned Burger Chain Is Coming To LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actor Mark Wahlberg and his brothers are bringing their gourmet burgers to a city near you.

Wahburgers, based in Hingham, Mass., was created by the star and his two brothers, Donnie and Paul.

The chain has signed agreements with five franchise groups to expand their business, CEO Rick Vanzura told Business Insider.

The contracts call for opening 30 new restaurants in seven states: California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The chain will come to Los Angeles and San Francisco, among other locations.

Wahlburgers is a sit-down restaurant, launched in 2011 outside Boston, inspired by Paul Wahlberg, who is a gourmet chef.

There are currently seven locations -- five on the East Coast and two in Canada, according to Wahlburgersrestaurant.com. Three more are set to open this year in Boston's Logan Airport, Las Vegas and Philadelphia.

Wahlburgers is also a reality television show in its fifth season on A&E. It was nominated for an Emmy twice, according to Emmys.com.
