At least one person was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a stabbing in Long Beach, authorities said.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to reports of a stabbing at 5 a.m. in the area of Pacific Avenue and 5th Street.

Upon arrival, they found a man with stab wounds to the upper body. He was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

No suspect information was made available. The LBPD said the investigation remains ongoing.

It's not yet confirmed if there were additional victims.

Aerial images showed a heavy police response to the Metro Station on Pacific. Blood could be spotted on the platform.

In a statement, Metro said an A-Line operator sought help for the victim after discovering him on the platform, and detailed changes to service as the investigation continues.

"While the investigation is ongoing, A-Line South Stations are turning back from Anaheim station with a shuttle train servicing 5th St, 1st Street, and Downtown Long Beach stations," the statement said. "A bus bridge is being established between Pacific and Anaheim Stations."

No additional details were immediately made available.
