Lancaster shooting leaves 1 dead

A person is dead after a shooting in Lancaster overnight, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to reports of a shooting at about 12:07 a.m. Sunday in the  1700 block of E. Avenue J4.

Upon arrival, they found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. They were pronounced deceased at the scene. On Monday, the victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as 22-year-old Jose Figueroa Jr.

No additional information, including any suspect description, was immediately made available.
