Hearing Delayed Again For Ex-NFL Player Sharper

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A preliminary hearing for former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper on charges that he drugged and raped two women he met at a West Hollywood nightclub has been delayed yet again.

The hearing scheduled Dec. 5 was scrubbed Wednesday after lawyers asked a Los Angeles Superior Court judge for more time.

Sharper is scheduled back in court next Wednesday to agree to a new date.

A prosecutor says the new hearing will probably be sometime in January, but the date won't be set until next week.

Sharper, who has been jailed since February, has pleaded not guilty to giving women drugs and raping them while they were unconscious.

He faces similar charges in Arizona and has denied allegations in other states where he's been investigated.
