Ex-YMCA Worker Sentenced For Molesting 2 Young Girls

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A former YMCA employee was sentenced Thursday for sexually molesting two young girls.

Matthew Aidan Pooley, 31, pleaded no contest to two felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, the L.A. County District Attorney's Office reported.

The San Pedro resident was sentenced to 10 years in state prison. He will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Earlier this year, a 4-year-old girl revealed she had been molested by Pooley while at a YMCA in Torrance, Deputy District Attorney Sam Ahmadpour said.

While Torrance police were investigating, a female relative of Pooley's came forward saying he also molested her in 2002, when she was 7 at a home in Kern County.

Pooley was arrested on July 30, 2014 and has been held in custody on $200,000 bail.
